Plastic is one of the most popular and essential materials of modern times, however the demand for it's use is an increasing problem. Approximately 20 times more plastic is used than 50 years ago, but the lifespan of plastics can be optimised by reusing and recycling items as many times as possible.

Whilst all plastics can be recycled, plastics recycling has traditionally been difficult due to the wide variety of different types of plastics in use – with approximately 50 different grades of plastic, sorting and processing for recycling is a complex task. However, Wastecycle has the most advanced material recycling facilities in the East Midlands and are investing a further 2.5 million in upgrading our exiting plant to incorporate the latest technology for sorting recyclables. All of the plastics that we receive are:
1. Sorted by machinery based on weight and colour
2. Baled for re-use
