Hazardous Waste
In recent years, legislation has increasingly impacted businesses in relation to their waste management, not least in relation to hazardous wastes under the Hazardous Waste Regulations 2005. Stringent rules are applied to the treatment, disposal and handling of hazardous wastes. Most businesses produce some form of hazardous waste. All hazardous waste must be segregated and stored separately on site. A general waste container cannot be used for the deposit of hazardous materials. Further controls were implemented in May 2007 applying to agricultural, non-mineral mine and quarry waste.
