Site Waste Management Plans (SWMP'S)

From April 2008 construction projects worth more than £300,000 will be required to have detailed Site Waste Management Plans (SWMP) in place.
There are two levels:-
- For projects costing between £300,000 and £500,000 - a Standard SWMP is required
- For projects costing over £500,000 - a Detailed SWMP is required.
Wastecycle has a wealth of experience in assisting customers with SWMPs. As a minimum and in line with the requirements of an SWMP, Wastecycle can assist you to:-
- Identify your responsible persons to monitor and implement your site waste management plans.
- Identify the types and quantities of waste likely to be generated on site throughout the project
- Consider and identify the most appropriate waste management options for your project, both on and off site
- Identify training requirements
- Plan for efficient materials and waste handling, including the supply of recycled or secondary aggregates, mixtures and soils
- Provide reporting on actual waste types produced and quantities recycled or landfilled
- Review the plan throughout the different stages of your project
- Supply appropriate containers, signage and collection services
